David Bernard is an American conductor, born on February 15, 1972, in New York City. He is the founder and music director of Park Avenue Chamber Symphony, a Manhattan-based orchestra. After completing his studies at the Yale School of Music and the Manhattan School of Music, Bernard worked with conductor Kurt Masur as an apprentice at the New York Philharmonic. Bernard has conducted numerous orchestras and ensembles around the world, including the Jerusalem Symphony, Barcelona Symphony, Shanghai Opera House Orchestra and the Vienna Philharmonic.
